Xylulose

die, -, D-Xylulose, Monosaccharid aus der Reihe der Pentosen (eine Ketopentose). Xylulose entsteht im zellulären Stoffwechsel aus Glucuronsäure, einem Oxidationsprodukt der Glucose, und ist in Form des Phosphorsäureesters Zwischenprodukt im Pentosephosphatzyklus.
